Welcome to Aged Companion Service Website.

This is a new bespoke service offering companionship and care to lonely or isolated elderly in the Eastern suburbs of Christchurch.

We can go for outings or appointments, I can take your dog for a walk, mow your lawns, ensure you have a meal organised, get the washing done, or just spend some time with you, whatever you need in order to remain independent in your home. Overnight care is not offered.

My points of difference from other organisations are benefits to you or your elderly loved one.

First, you will just have me at your door, not a different carer each time.

Second, I am a registered nurse so I can take you to your appointments with health professionals, sit in with you at the consult (if you want) and can then help with medications/inform your family or whatever else is required. Any other care can be discussed.

Third, I’m a trusted professional, police vetted, with decades of nursing experience in a variety of settings.

Fourth, I know what its like to have elderly parents.

This is an affordable (but not a government funded service), however your investment in my services will deliver peace of mind. and potentially extend your independence.

A little bit about me.

As I said above, I am a Registered nurse and fully vaccinated against Covid 19.

I have extensive past experience as a Practice Nurse, worked in Aged care as a Registered Nurse and most recently worked as an Ear Nurse at the Ear Hygiene Clinic in Ferrymead.

I decided it was time for a change but still want to continue to work locally using my knowledge and experience. As a nurse, I’ve always enjoyed making a difference to people’s lives.

It may be that you already have some help in your home, whether it be the neighbour, a volunteer from an organisation, or some funded help through the hospital. But maybe its not enough, or maybe you don’t like to ask for help beyond what is funded or because you think it might be too much bother for your helpers. This is where I can help you .
